Texas State Fair

The month of October is State Fair month.
The fair is pretty much the same as an A&P show, or perhaps the Easter Show.
Anyway, last week we went to have a look...

This is the entrance...
If you weren't sure you were in Texas before, ya'll do now

There were a heap of stalls that test your "skill" and you get a prize
You know the sort of thing, pay $5 to throw 3 darts that so blunt they don't stick in, at a board for a $2 stuffed toy which is the gauranteed prize...

One of the vomit inducing rides
Thankfully, Hannah was too small for the majority of rides

And of course, junk food
The State Fair is famous for frying everything in batter
eg, Corny Dogs (Hot Dogs), Bananas, Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches
Hannah took the opportunity to have some candy floss
This is her candy floss moustache

The sugar hit got Hannah prepared for the rides she could go on

This is from the top of the ferris wheel, probably a hundred ft tall
Shows about 1/4 of the fair with this shot

Well, we can say we went there, now.
But, it was bloody expensive.
I doubt we're going back next year.
A small box of chips (wedges actually) cost &4, a drink cost $4.
The ferris wheel was $5.50 each, so, it was $16.50.
Needless to say we chewed through our money pretty damn quick.

There was some face painting, that was pretty cool.
